What is an AFF first jump?

An AFF first jump is the first jump of Accelerated Freefall, taught here with the PAC method of the French Parachuting Federation (FFP), its French equivalent. You jump with your own parachute, two instructors hold you throughout freefall and you open it yourself: it is level 1 of the course, your first real step as a skydiver.

Quiz: tandem or PAC?

Tandem or PAC: which first skydive suits you?

5 questions, 30 seconds: we point you to the option that fits you, at this season's official price.

Question 1 of 5

What do you want from your first jump?

How does an AFF first jump work?

An AFF first jump is a full, action-packed day at Beni Mellal airfield: ground school, kitting up, a 15 to 20 minute climb in a Pilatus PC-6, about 50 seconds of freefall held by two instructors, you deploy your parachute around 1,500 m, then 5 to 7 minutes under canopy and a debrief.

  1. 1

    Welcome at the airfield

Welcome to Beni Mellal airport: medical (on site if needed) and licence and insurance paperwork, all quick and easy.

  2. 2

    Ground school

With your instructors, you learn and rehearse every move of the jump on the ground: body position, exit, altimeter, deployment, emergency procedures and landing. You go up ready.

  3. 3

    Kitting up

You are fitted with your parachute and altimeter. Like every parachute at the club, yours has an automatic activation device.

  4. 4

    The climb in the Pilatus

A 15 to 20 minute climb to about 4,000 m in the Pilatus PC-6 Porter, with the Tadla plain and the Middle Atlas below you.

  5. 5

    Freefall

You exit with your two instructors, who hold you through roughly 50 seconds of freefall at about 200 km/h. You hold your position, keep an eye on your altitude and savour it.

  6. 6

    Your deployment

Around 1,500 m, you open your own parachute: your very first deployment! Your instructors stay beside you right up to that moment.

  7. 7

    Canopy flight and landing

5 to 7 minutes under your canopy, which you fly following the flight plan learned on the ground, down to a landing on the airfield.

  8. 8

    Debrief

Your instructors go through the jump with you: everything you did well, and what you will work on next time if you carry on.

What you learn before you jump

Ground school gives you everything you need to be in charge of your jump, with confidence. Every move is rehearsed on the ground until it becomes second nature.

  • A stable freefall position, belly to earth
  • Exiting the aircraft with your two instructors
  • Reading your altimeter and keeping track of altitude
  • Your instructors' hand signals in freefall
  • Opening your parachute at the planned altitude
  • Canopy checks and emergency procedures
  • Flying your canopy, the landing pattern and the landing

Why do your AFF first jump in Beni Mellal this winter

  • A full winter season

From 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, every day from 8:30 am to 6 pm: you learn in the sunshine while many northern European drop zones are waiting for spring.

  • An FFP-approved club, founded in 2000

French Parachuting Federation training and rules, qualified instructors, an automatic activation device on every parachute. Based in Beni Mellal since 2003.

  • A real skydiving aircraft

The Pilatus PC-6 Porter carries 9 skydivers and climbs to about 4,000 m above the Tadla plain, facing the Middle Atlas, often snow-capped in winter.

  • Bad weather costs you nothing

If the chief instructor judges conditions unsuitable, your jump is moved free of charge to another date in the season, or turned into a credit.

  • Easy to reach

2 hours by road from Casablanca, 2 hours 30 from Marrakech. Lunch in the traditional caidal tent by the runway (70 MAD), and your friends and family are welcome.

Is it safe to jump on your own parachute on your very first skydive?

That is exactly what the AFF method is built for: every step is supervised. Ground school, two instructors who hold you throughout freefall and can open your parachute for you, an automatic activation device on every parachute, weather calls by the chief instructor and a 7 m/s ground wind limit for students, under French Parachuting Federation rules.

Requirements

  • Be at least 16 (parental consent for minors).
  • An FFP-approved medical taken within the last three months; without one, you can have it on site with the club's approved doctor (200 MAD).
  • A federation licence and insurance, as for every FFP student.
  • No experience needed: ground school prepares you for everything.
  • Good general fitness and the whole day ahead of you.

What's next? Go for the full AFF course

The AFF first jump is level 1 of Accelerated Freefall. Want to go further? The full AFF course strings together 7 instructed jumps, levels 1 to 4, until you jump independently: €1,300 for non-residents, 14,200 MAD for Morocco residents. The FFP A licence then requires 12 jumps, including 5 solo.

AFF first jump questions

All questions
Can you skydive solo on your first jump?

Yes, that's exactly what the AFF first jump offers! You aren't attached to anyone: you wear your own parachute, two instructors hold you during freefall, then you open it yourself and fly your canopy down to the ground. Ground school prepares you for it, with no experience needed.

How much does an AFF first jump cost?

€500 for non-residents and 6,000 MAD for Morocco residents (with proof of residence), ground school and jump included. In a group of at least 10 people, enjoy 5,000 MAD per person, on quotation and booked 6 days ahead. Secure online payment, charged in dirhams, with the exact amount shown before you confirm.

How many jumps before you can skydive solo?

With AFF, you jump on your own parachute from your very first jump. Solo jumping, with no instructor beside you, comes at level 4, after at least 6 accompanied jumps (FFP rule). Our full AFF course has 7 instructed jumps, levels 1 to 4. The A licence then requires 12 jumps, including 5 solo.

What is the difference between AFF and a tandem skydive?

On a tandem, you are harnessed to an instructor who handles everything, deployment included, with no prior training: €250. On an AFF first jump, you wear your own parachute after ground school, two instructors hold you in freefall and you open it: €500. A tandem lets you experience freefall; AFF teaches it to you.

Is AFF scarier than a tandem?

Above all, it's more rewarding: you hold your position, watch your altimeter, open your own parachute and fly your canopy to the ground. You live the jump as an actor, not a passenger. Want to enjoy it first with nothing to manage? The tandem is made for you; our quiz helps you choose in 30 seconds.

What happens if I can't open my parachute?

You are never alone: your two instructors are with you throughout freefall and can open your parachute for you. Every parachute also has an automatic activation device, which opens the reserve if you are falling too fast below a set altitude. And on the ground, you rehearse these procedures until they become second nature.

Do I need a medical for an AFF first jump?

Yes: an FFP-approved medical exam taken within the last three months, as for any AFF training. Don't have one? No problem: have it on site with the club's approved doctor, for 200 MAD.

How old do you have to be to do AFF?

From 16. Minors need parental consent, and every student needs an FFP-approved medical taken within the last three months.

Do you need to be fit to do AFF?

You don't need to be an athlete: good general fitness is enough. Ground school teaches you the freefall position and every move of the jump, and your two instructors hold you throughout freefall. The FFP-approved medical simply checks that nothing stands in the way of your jump.

What if the weather is bad on my jump day?

You lose nothing. The chief instructor decides on every jump according to the weather, and students don't jump in ground winds above 7 m/s (FFP rule). If conditions are unsuitable, your jump is moved free of charge to another date in the season, or turned into a credit.

When can I do an AFF first jump in Morocco?

Throughout the club's season, from 5 December 2026 to 4 April 2027, every day from 8:30 am to 6 pm. You jump in Beni Mellal, at the foot of the Middle Atlas, a 2-hour drive from Casablanca and 2 hours 30 from Marrakech. Pick your date and book online in a few minutes.

How long does an AFF first jump take?

Treat yourself to the whole day at the airfield: welcome and paperwork, ground school, then the jump when the weather and aircraft lifts allow. Lunch is served in the caidal tent by the runway (70 MAD), and your friends and family are welcome.

Can I give an AFF first jump as a gift?

Yes, and it's a gift that leaves its mark! The voucher is bought online and prints instantly. It is valid for the season: until 4 April 2027 for a voucher bought today, and the exact date is printed on the voucher.

Can I carry on to the full AFF course after my first jump?

Yes, with pleasure: the AFF first jump is level 1 of AFF. The full course has 7 instructed jumps, levels 1 to 4, for €1,300 (non-residents) or 14,200 MAD (Morocco residents). Talk to your instructors at the debrief or message us to plan what comes next.
